Harriet Rohmer is the founder and former Publisher/Executive Director of Children's Book Press, the award-winning publisher of bilingual and multicultural picture books in San Francisco. Her books have won over 100 major awards, including the American Book Award, the Coretta Scott King Award, and the Ezra Jack Keats Award. Many of the books have become classics-Family Pictures/ Cuadros de familia (9780892392070), stories told to me by artist Carmen Lomas Garza, has sold close to half a million copies. The illustrator of this book is Julie McLaughlin. NRDC is the nation's most effective environmental action organization.
